The SBIR and STTR Phase 1 contracts will run for six and 13 months respectively with up to $125,000 in funds, NASA said Saturday.

The selected proposals will cover the development of several technologies for space exploration missions including autonomous intelligence platforms for manned and unmanned spacecraft; an oscillating heat pipe for spacecraft’s thermal control system; Hall-effect thruster power processing unit; a room temperature electrolyzer; and superconductors for aircraft propulsion motors.

The space agency selected the proposals based on feasibility, technical merit, commercial potential, facilities, experience and qualifications of the participating organization.
