Elizabeth Ahrens, a 17-year health information technology professional, has been promoted to a new director position at Reston, Virginia-based management and technology services provider tiag to oversee health IT initiatives for federal government and commercial clients.

She will direct mission-critical health IT programs and related projects, implement the firm’s strategic goals and manage work with the Department of Health and Human Services’ office of the chief information officer and other federal agencies, tiag said Friday.

Ahrens has joined tiag’s new group that seeks to develop and field technology programs – Solutions and Innovations Strike Team – and served as the team’s program and portfolio management lead.

Prior to joining tiag in 2015, she held senior leadership roles at Technatomy, Covance Laboratories, Evoke Research and Consulting, Q.E.D. Consulting and CSRA subsidiary SRA International.
