BMC Software has teamed with Andreessen Horowitz, LifeLock and PayPal to launch a program that seeks to educate former U.S. military personnel about digital skills required for potential careers in the technology sector.
All four sponsors of the BreakLine Tech program will hold educational sessions on culture, organizational design, talent management and expected future trends to guide participants on their technology career pursuits, BMC Software said Wednesday.
“BMC is proud to sponsor and host BreakLine Tech because we recognize that one meaningful way we can honor the men and women who have served our country is to equip them with new digital skills,” said Dan Streetman, senior vice president of worldwide strategic sales and operations at BMC.
The company plans to host 30 military veterans at its Santa Clara, California, campus next week as part of the BreakLine Tech program.
BMC noted that various political and business leaders met during the World Economic Forum to identify possible strategies to address workforce requirements amid growing use of machine learning, artificial intelligence, internet of things, payment and robotic technologies in the digital industry.
