Tony Whigham, formerly director of the federal business at Hewlett Packard Enterprise‘s Aruba Networks subsidiary, has joined Hitachi Data Systems as director of government sales in Australia and New Zealand.
He will work to develop strategies for HDS’ federal and state government portfolio and explore new areas of collaboration with the company’s social innovation solutions unit, Hitachi said Thursday.
The 25-year information technology industry veteran previously held various leadership positions at firms such as Dimension Data, Teradata and Optus.
“Tony brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role to guide departments through the digital transition process, with the aim to deliver even better services to citizens,” said Nathan McGregor, vice president and general manager of HDS’Â Australia and New Zealand operations.
“[Whigham] is also passionate about educating the market on the possibilities for enhanced public safety, innovation and collaboration that arise from the internet of things,” McGregor added.
