Janus Global Operations has provided full sponsorship to a U.K.-based project that aims to mitigate the poaching of animals in Africa.
JGO said Tuesday The Bigger Picture project is led by British army veterans Freddy Paske and David MacKay, who appointed filmmaker Dieter Deswarte to help produce a video documentary on African wildlife conservation.
“Janus has nine offices in Africa, so a natural cohesion of interest exists between JGO and the dedicated team working on The Bigger Picture,” said Dale Allen, JGO vice president of commercial operations.
Paske, MacKay and Deswarte will work with an anti-poaching team in Zambia to document the poaching problem in Africa’s Kafue National Park as well as the dangers faced by anti-poaching units, JGO added.
The Bigger Picture will use proceeds from artwork, the documentary and donations to provide professional training and equipment that could help keep anti-poaching teams safe.
The project will begin in February 2017.
