J. Andrew Valentine, a 14-year cybersecurity professional, has joined New York-based risk consulting firm Kroll as associate managing director of the company’s cybersecurity and investigations practice.
Kroll CEO David Fontaine said Wednesday Valentine’s investigative and technical skills as well as his experience in cyber incident management will help the company expand its cyber practice.
Valentine previously worked at Verizon’s Cybertrust business and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s computer crime center, where he gained experience in the areas of computer forensics and evidentiary procedures.
He was also involved in civil and criminal investigative work in collaboration with the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Secret Service, among other federal agencies.
Valentine, a Payment Card Industry qualified security assessor, co-authored the book “CyberForensics: Understanding Information Security Investigations” and served as one of the creators of the Data Breach Investigations Report.
