Kay Kapoor, president of government solutions business at AT&T, has been included in FedScoop’s list of D.C.’s Top 50 Women in Technology for 2016 in recognition of her work in the federal information technology sector, FedScoop reported Thursday.
Kapoor told FedScoop in an interview that women should pursue a career in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and seek the guidance of mentors as they choose their career paths.
She oversees a business of 4,500 employees at AT&T that works to provide IT and professional services to federal agencies as well as manages the company’s software-based networking initiative.
Kapoor, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2016, held senior IT leadership roles at Accenture’s federal services business, ITT and Lockheed Martin.
