Harris Corp. has been chosen for the Defense Department‘s Nunn-Perry Award in recognition of the company’s partnership with Spatial Data Integrations under the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency‘s mentor-protege program.
Harris said Wednesday it mentored the woman-owned company in geospatial content management, open source data collection and quality control strategies.
North Carolina Central University is also part of the mentor-protege team and has helped Harris provide technology and marketing research training support to Spatial Data Integrations.
The program works to encourage prime contractors to help develop small businesses’ technical capabilities in order to pursue government contracts, Harris noted.
Louisville, Kentucky-based Spatial Data Integrations specializes in gathering, conversion, analysis and management of geospatial data and imagery.
