Matthew McCormack serves as chief technology officer at the global public sector business of EMC‘s security division RSA.
In that capacity, McCormarck oversees RSA’s technical strategic programs and partnerships with government agencies and critical infrastructure operators globally.
He joined RSA in July 2012 after service as chief information security officer at the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, where he oversaw the agency’s efforts to protect classified data and implement programs to mitigate cybersecurity threats within the intelligence community.
Before DIA, he directed the U.S. Internal Revenue Service‘s cybersecurity operations and also held the roles of security engineering director as well as chief security architect at IRS.
McCormack served in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologic officer and supported U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as an M.B.A. from the University of West Florida.
He is also a Certified Information System Security Professional and a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional.
