“The talented men and women who demonstrated their impressive skills at the 2015 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition give us great confidence in the ability of the next generation of cyber defenders to guard our critical cyber infrastructure,” said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services unit.

Wajsgras, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2015, noted that Raytheon provided the domain environment to facilitate a “realistic experience” as participants worked to counter staged cyber attacks.

UCF received the NCCDC Alamo Cup trophy and will go on a tour of research and national security cyber sites in Washington, Raytheon said.

The company also provided financial support, volunteers and its SureView Insider Threat product for NCCDC as the competition’s title sponsor.

The University of California – Berkeley and Rochester Institute of Technology placed second and third, respectively.
