ON Semiconductor has announced that its North America manufacturing facilities have received a superior security rating from an annual vulnerability assessment conducted by the Defense Security Service.
According to DoD, the superior rating is to contractors whom have fulfilled the requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Gary Pugsley, global security manager and corporate facility security officer, said that the rating required a sustained high level of management support and quick response to any serious security issue.
“Having a superior rating at both of our North American production operations assures our customers that regardless of the project or technology, their designs are safe with ON Semiconductor,” said Pugsley.
“Whether customers choose the trusted flow, classified or unclassified, or customary business flows, they know with confidence that their products are secure in our facilities.
ON Semiconductor’s manufacturing facilities in Pocatello, Idaho and Gresham, Oregon have attained a “superior” security posture, the company said.
“Combining these two security ratings with the fact that the company is also accredited for Trusted Design, Foundry and Broker operations by the Defense Micro Electronics Activity substantiates ON Semiconductor as the primary source of choice for customers in this arena,” Pugsley said.
