Siemens Canada as one of the most environmental friendly employers in the country for the third consecutive year by job-hunting guide publisher Mediacorp Canada, Canada Newswire reported Tuesday.
Mediacorp cited Siemens’ in-house recycling and telecommuter programs, as well as the launch of its Sustainability Council as attributes of being a green company.
The company has elected to take two hours of their employees’ work days to participate in Earth Day activities, tree planting activities and local clean ups of parks and green spaces in recognition of the award.
Siemens also donated $48,000 to Tree Canada, where 300 employees from 15 Canadian cities will plant 1,500 trees.
Siemens employees have planted more than 4,000 trees since 2012.
