Harris Corp. will provide its Soldier Radio Waveform applique systems to the U.S. Army for a tactical network modernization effort under a potential $988 million contract.
The company said Friday the vehicular Harris SRW applique systems provide voice, video and data communications using the Falcon III wideband radio and a small form-factor wideband power amplifier.
SRW applique systems work to connect soldiers to command centers and headquarters via the network for situational awareness and command-and-control funtions.
“The appliques also address space challenges in Army vehicles that are unable to accommodate larger, manpack-based solutions,” said George Helm, president for the Defense Department business at Harris RF Communications.
The Army placed initial orders for the Harris SRWÂ applique system in 2012.
