Scott Talbott has been named senior vice president of government affairs at the Electronic Transactions Association, an international trade association of companies that offer electronic transaction processing products and services.
Talbott will develop and implement the organization’s federal and state legislative and regulatory strategies, on behalf of the 500 ETA member companies, ETA announced Monday.
“ETA has significantly enhanced its government affairs operations in recent months with the formation of the payments industry’s first political action committee, ETAPAC, and the expansion of ETA’s Government Relations Committee to include representatives from more than 30 of the nation’s largest financial and technology companies,” ETA said.
Talbott was most recently The Financial Services Roundtable‘s senior vice president for public policy where he managed its political action committee and was in-charge of the roundtable’s overall policy strategy and daily legislative and regulatory advocacy programs.
He was named as a top lobbyist by The Hill in both 2009 and 2011, according to ETA.
