Brett Davis, a Deloitte Consulting principal, has joined the board of directors at open source advocacy group tranSMART Foundation after Deloitte awarded gold-level sponsorship to the foundation.
The tranSMART Foundation works to help life science and healthcare enterprises use cloud computing to collaborate and share knowledge, Deloitte said Wednesday.
Davis, Deloitte Health Informatics general manager, said the firm and tranSMART will collaborate to help spur development of new offerings in the healthcare arena.
“The realization of personalized medicine requires solutions that allow academics and industry to openly collaborate to put the massive amounts of clinical and research data we are generating to work,” said Dan Housman, a director at Deloitte Consulting.
Housman also serves as chief technology officer of Recombinant by Deloitte, an early developer of the tranSMART platform.
