The Department of Homeland Security has posted requests for information on potential industry sources of software and incidental services in the areas of security, application infrastructure and backup and storage.
DHS said Thursday in a FedBizOpps notice that it needs software systems that can secure data, applications and web servers across the department and its components.
Interested vendors should provide information on their systems’ capacity to prevent and detect cyber threats, network threats and other vulnerabilities, as well as the expandability and adaptability of their software to unique environments.
Responses should describe the vendor’s storage offerings and capabilities in data logging, email and system messaging.
DHS also seeks software for application infrastructure that can host and deliver the Java Platform Enterprise Edition application as well as host, monitor and manage an application on one server or more.
Proposers should submit information on software development tools and their systems’ capacity to communicate and route messages between multiple applications.
The department also released a “sources sought” notice for software services in the area of data storage and backup.
Vendors should explain their systems’ ability to backup or restore data as well as describe their open-source tape data storage and backup technology.
Respondents must also discuss their tapeless data storage and backup technology and related capabilities.
DHS will accept responses to all three notices until Feb. 15.
