Applied DNA Sciences has received a one-year contract extension to provide DNA marking support services for the Defense Logistics Agency’s Federal Supply Class 5962 microcircuits.
The company said Monday the contract extension will run through Oct. 13, 2018, and will cover the application of the firm’s SigNature DNA marks and provision of related supplies, equipment and services to DLA’s electronic product test center in Columbus, Ohio.
Janice Meraglia, vice president of government and military programs at Applied DNA, said the company is proud to support the DLA land and maritime facility’s program to oversee and identify risks to the supply system through the use of DNA technology platform that can be integrated into the agency’s acquisition initiatives to meet defense requirements.
“To date, over 800,000 microcircuits have been DNA marked,â€Â Meraglia added.
Stony Brook, New York-based Applied DNA develops molecular-based technology tools such as SigNature DNA that work to protect supply chains, products and brands from counterfeiting, fraud and theft.
