The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Battelle a potential five-year, $55 million contract for the development and assessment of technologies, processes and tools designed to mitigate pollution as well as restore ecosystems.
Battelle said Wednesday it will also continue to help EPA conduct tests and evaluations in an effort to address drinking water problems, aging water infrastructure and greenhouse emissions in the U.S. under the Scientific, Technical, Research, Engineering, and Modeling Support III contract.
EPA also asked the nonprofit to support remediation of the agency’s Superfund sites.
“The work of serving as a trusted advisor for the EPA is important to us and our mission, and we take very seriously the task of helping to mitigate pollution,” said Amy Dindal, STREAMS III program manager at Battelle.
The contract is a follow-on to the STREAMS II contract and was awarded through the agency’s Office of Research and Development.
