Bedford, Massachusetts-based biometrics software company Aware has supplied its software and services line to the U.S. Marine Corps‘ in support of the service branch’s identity-related operations.
Aware said Tuesday the company has provided its Biometric Services Platform to act as a portable biometric identity management platform that can help update, manage and share identity data between devices and databases in the field using hardened laptops.

The company noted its services platform includes the URC|Tactical software, originally used by the U.S. Navy‘s Identity Dominance System, that runs on military-grade mobile biometric hardware devices from third parties designed to collect biometrics and establish identities in tactical environments.
