Buchanan & Edwards has won a potential three-year, $19.5 million  contract from the U.S. Navy to develop and implement an offline client technology for a recruiting information support system for the U.S. Marine Corps.
The Arlington, Virginia-based company will also manage the client technology to help Marine Corps recruiters perform their job, the Defense Department said Friday.
Buchanan & Edwards will carry out work under the firm-fixed-price contract at the Marine Corps Recruiting Command headquarters in Quantico, Virginia, through June 25, 2019.
Five offers were submitted to the command for the Marine Corps Recruiting Information Support System program and the obligated amount of $1.1 million at the time of award is from the Marine Corps’ fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds.
The MCRISS system is designed to automate the enlistment process at USMC and works to help the service branch to electronically schedule applicants for processing as well as receive electronic processing results.
