Sarah Bedsaul Hiza has assumed the role of vice president of engineering and technology for Lockheed Martin’s rotary and mission systems business, transitioning from her previous position as VP and general manager of strategic and missile defense systems at the company.
In a LinkedIn post on Monday, Hiza said she will lead a team dedicated to advancing innovative services and disruptive technologies.
Hiza has been with Lockheed for over nine years, initially joining as director of propulsion, structures, ordnance and controls in 2015 before her promotion to VP in 2017. Three years later, she was appointed deputy general manager of strategic and missile defense systems, and in 2021, she assumed her most recent role.
Additionally, Hiza serves as a member of the board of trustees at NOLS, a nonprofit wilderness school.
Before joining NOLS, she spent 11 years at Orbital ATK, beginning as a research and development scientist and later advancing to leadership roles in various technical operations within the company.
