Gabe Camarillo, undersecretary of the U.S. Army, said the service branch is working on a multi-vendor approach for its cloud-based data analytics platform, with plans to award contracts by the end of 2023, Breaking Defense reported Friday.
According to him, the Army is planning to release a request for information to gather industry comments and feedback on the draft requirements for the Vantage recompete procurement effort.
“We’re going to pursue a multi-vendor approach that allows for best-in-breed industry approaches, and allows us to tailor the products for the specific use cases,” Camarillo added.
Palantir Technologies serves as the sole data integrator for the Vantage platform under a potential four-year, $110 million other transaction agreement awarded in December 2019.
The company was awarded a potential $113.8 million contract option a year later to continue work on the program.
Vantage is designed to help senior leaders across the Army make data-driven decisions using artificial intelligence and machine learning-powered applications.
