Accenture and satellite imagery provider Planet Labs have agreed to develop artificial intelligence-powered geospatial intelligence tools to support public and private sector customers in sustainability projects.
The partnership seeks to apply data from Planet’s fleet of Earth imaging satellites in efforts to help organizations across multiple sectors, such as the government, manage supply chain risks and other global challenges, Accenture said Tuesday.
Planet is currently operating 200 satellites designed to provide agencies and businesses insight into daily changes on the ground.
Accenture noted that imagery could help defense and intelligence communities to make decisions about tactical operations or other critical missions.
The collaborative effort is in line with Project Spotlight, an investment program Accenture’s venture capital arm created to help technology startups connect with global public companies.
