Boeing has secured a $58.3 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, undefinitized contract action from the U.S. Navy for Quickstrike Extended Range non-functional glide kits, prototype articles and shipping containers.
The contractor will design and produce QS-ER glide kits at its facility in St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to complete contract work by March 2024, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
The Naval Sea Systems Command will obligate $20.24 million in fiscal 2020 research development, test and evaluation funds, all of which will expire at the end of fiscal 2021.
According to Navy officials, Boeing is the only source of the needed glide kits as no other companies can satisfy agency requirements.
