The State Department has approved the request of the NATO Communications and Information Agency to buy 517 AN/PRC-158 manpack UHF satellite communications radio systems under a potential $65 million foreign military sales agreement.
Raytheon Technologies’ Collins Aerospace subsidiary will serve as the prime contractor under the FMS deal, which also includes crypto fill devices, vehicular ancillaries, deployed headquarter ancillaries, power support, man-portable ancillaries, operator and maintenance training, technical assistance and logistics support, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday.
The proposed transaction will provide NATO warfighters access to command, control, communications and intelligence technologies and systems to facilitate secure communications, improve military decision-making and achieve interoperability with U.S. forces.
The FMS agreement would require the deployment of one or two contractor personnel to provide operator and maintenance services for two months in support of NATO.
DSCA said it notified Congress of the potential sale Friday.
