David Egts, director and chief technologist of Red Hat‘s North American public sector business, said the company has worked with Cloudera to develop a turnkey platform intended for data science functions.
Egts noted in a FedScoop podcast posted Tuesday that agencies are working to integrate turnkey tools in an effort to improve the management, analysis, visualization and sharing of information as federal datasets continue to expand.
He added that government chief data officers explore approaches to share data with other agencies and third-party organizations.
In the same podcast, Henry Sowell, head of Cloudera’s government solutions unit, said the company seeks to help agencies develop data strategies that leverage ready-made technologies to simplify the generation of data insights.
Sowell added that current systems work to help the public sector manage the data life cycle that includes collection, analysis and reporting.
