TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 4, 2020 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) reached an agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers to implement an alternate work schedule for skilled personnel at the company's F-35 production facility in Fort Worth, Texas, GovCon Wire reported May 20.

The company said May 19 it would create three rotating shift rosters and compensate workers who render 96 hours of work or more under the temporary schedule agreement aimed at mitigating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on fighter aircraft manufacturing efforts.

"These are challenging times, but managing tough challenges is when the F-35 program performs at its best," said Michele Evans, executive vice president of Lockheed's aeronautics sector and a 2020 Wash100 awardee.

"Our F-35 workforce is the best in the world at what they do, and we will continue to deliver on our customer's mission."
