Cubic’s global defense business has selected Leonardo DRS to provide over 250 air combat training system pods to the U.S. military and its allies under subcontracts worth $60M.
Leonardo DRS said Monday it will also carry out related services in line with the P5 Combat Training System pods as part of the subcontracts.
The company noted it supports the air combat platform’s airborne instrumentation subsystem and has been selected by Cubic to design and manufacture the platform's pods.
Cubic has received a contract of undisclosed value to supply air combat training pods and subsystems to the U.S. Air Force and foreign military sales clients.
Larry Ezell, senior vice president and general manager at Leonardo DRS’ airborne and intelligence systems business, said that the company is proud to have been selected to deliver technology that will help the Air Force and allied countries’ pilots “effectively train to the highest standards of combat flight tactics.â€
