Marcus Chevitarese, former deputy engineering director of Raytheon’s vision systems business, has joined satellite technology maker Umbra Lab as engineering vice president, SpaceNews reported Thursday.
He will work with David Langan, co-founder and CEO of Umbra, in efforts to develop the startup’s technical strategy and roadmap.
Chevitarese previously held engineering-related roles at telecommunications firm Ericsson, Autoliv's electronics business and Takata's Automotive Systems Laboratory.
Umbra is headquartered in Santa Barbara, Calif., and offers a range of synthetic aperture radar microsatellite products designed to capture imagery during the day or night and in all weather conditions.
