Deborah Lee James, former secretary of the U.S. Air Force, has joined the board of directors of location tracking device maker LocatorX.
She has 37 years of national security experience in the federal government and private sector, where she held leadership positions at companies such as Science Applications International Corp. and United Technologies Corp., LocatorX said Wednesday. Her background encompasses strategic planning, logistics and public policy.
"Enterprises have managed supply chain tracking and logistics in the same manner for years now," James said.
As a board member, she will advise the LocatorX leadership as the company aims to introduce a method to simplify supply chain management processes to the civilian and military markets.
The Atlanta-based firm offers a suite of tracking products that include a Near Field Communications/Bluetooth-ready chip, 2D bar codes and an atomic clock-powered global resource locator.
