Tyrone Grandison, a more than two-decade industry veteran, has joined technology and creative design firm U.Group as vice president of data.
U.Group said Wednesday Grandison will bring to the role his 26 years’ experience in data, security, privacy and software engineering to help the firm’s federal and industry clients address complex challenges through the use of data.
"While he's widely recognized for his work in data security and privacy, it's Tyrone's passion for using data to impact society that will help us bring deep empathy and social consciousness to the way our team, and our customers, approach analytics,†said U.Group CEO Lena Trudeau.
U.Group, which officially launched this month, was created through the merger of technology firm ByteCubed and creative agency CHIEF.
Grandison recently served as executive director of the Data-Driven Institute, a public health nonprofit organization that helps policymakers come up with programs and policies through the use of technology.
His public sector experience included roles such as deputy chief data officer at the Department of Commerce and White House Presidential Innovation Fellow.
