Lockheed Martin has received an eight-year, $19.9M contract to support a U.S. Air Force effort to develop advanced turbine technologies.
The company will work under the program's affordable mission-capability phase that aims to build, demonstrate and transition cost-reductive turbine and thermal technologies, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
USAF will obligate a combined amount of $360K in fiscal 2018 and 2019 to finance the contract's first task order.
Work will take place in Fort Worth, Texas, through Feb. 12, 2027.
Air Force Research Laboratory solicited for the contract competitively and received 54 proposals.
