Labor Department Looks to Tap Industry to Replace Financial Management System - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Department of Labor is seeking industry feedback on a proposed project to replace the agency’s financial management system.

DOL said it seeks information from industry to help determine potential vendors, the new system’s technical characteristics and functionality as well as project cost, according to a request for information FedBizOpps posted Thursday.

The current FMS supports more than 17K employees across 11 DOL agencies and uses various modules, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, procurement, budget execution, projects and fixed asset management.

The DOL will host a demonstration day in Washington, D.C., in early 2019 for industry to present their systems for the FMS replacement.

Interested parties have until Jan. 11 to register for the event and Jan. 16 to respond to the RFI.

The department said the selected contractor will be tasked to manage FMS configuration, applications, data, hardware, software and software licenses.
