The General Services Administration has added Iron Mountain‘s shredding services to the Schedule 36 governmentwide procurement vehicle for office, imaging and document offerings.
The company said Wednesday federal customers can seek assistance to dispose of information under the 51-507 special item number for destruction services.
“Agencies also have the flexibility to choose either onsite or offsite and one-time or recurring services, ensuring they have access to the service or combination of services,” said Michael Lewis, vice president and general manager of Iron Mountain’s federal business.
Personnel will collect and dispose customers’ paper-based materials through the company’s Mobile Shredding Unit as part of the onsite shredding process.
The offsite service involved transferring materials from the client site to the company’s shred facility where personnel will destroy the files and provide a full custody report.
Iron Mountain noted it recycles shredded materials and delivers a “Green Report†detailing the company’s sustainability efforts to customers.
