Raytheon to Continue Air-to-Air Missile Refresh Work Under $62M USAF Contract Option - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Raytheon’s missile systems business has received a $62M contract modification from the U.S. Air Force to support form, fit and function upgrade work on the Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile system.

The modification exercises an option under a previously issued contract and covers phase 5 activities to refresh the missile’s guidance section, the Defense Department said Friday.

DoD noted the option includes foreign military sales to Norway, Turkey, Japan, Romania and Australia.

The Air Force will obligate $6.1M in FMS funds at the time of award.

Work will take place in Tucson, Ariz., through Dec. 21, 2020.

AMRAAM functions as the NASAMS launcher’s baseline weapon intended for surface-launch missions and the missile is designed to integrate with F-15, F-16, F-22, F/A-18, Gripen, Harrier, Tornado and Typhoon platforms.
