The U.S. Navy has a awarded an $18.5M contract to General Dynamics‘ missions systems business for research, development and sustainment support on various control systems.
The company will perform these services to support the fire control sub-system for U.S. ballistic missile submarines, the U.K.’s FCS and the weapon control system for U.S. cruise missile submarines, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
The contract also provides for services supporting the U.S./U.K. shipboard data system, as well as training and support equipment.
The Navy will obligate a combined amount of $8.3M in fiscal 2019 funds and $2.6M in foreign military sales funds from the U.K.
Work will take place at locations in Massachusetts, Georgia and Virginia through September 2019.
