Nutanix has secured a contract worth over $20M with a Defense Department agency for a software capable of operating 15 remote sites running two different networks.
The defense agency will leverage the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform to support specialized hardware in remote sites, as well as process and transmit vast amounts of data to a centralized cloud over unreliable network connections, Nutanix said Monday.
About 350 government agencies have adopted the software to back their efforts in information technology infrastructure modernization and cloud migration.
The deal is the largest that the cloud computing software provider made in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2018. It is one of five worth more than $1M in the U.S. federal vertical and one of 46 worth over $1M overall at the end of Q4.
Chris Howard, vice president of public sector sales at Nutanix, said the company will continue to support U.S. federal agencies as they work on controlling costs and application performance, as well as on streamlining IT infrastructure.
