The Department of Veterans Affairs has issued a request for information to support plans to transfer its enterprise endpoint security system to a cloud environment certified by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
The migration of the Enterprise Anti-Virus Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System will include operations and maintenance support for the current environment and full back-up and proof of fail over testing provided annually, the VA said in a notice posted Tuesday on the Federal Business Opportunities website.
The department intends for the potential contractor to maintain a Continuity of Operations Plan that includes disaster recovery, incident response and information systems contingency.
Services will include the development of a single-pane console for client, policy and update operations; management and sustainment of authority to operate packages; endpoint licenses and continuous training.
The EAV HIPS is meant to provide collaborative and intelligent endpoint defense, secure file sharing, layered protection, intrusion prevention, control, encryption and firewall for devices, removable media and cloud storage.
The anti-malware and spyware system is geared to employ pre-execution containment, machine learning, behavior classification and identification of zero-day threats.
EAV supports around 395 storage devices, 575,000 workstations and 32,500 servers that operate systems such as Linux Red Hat, Windows VA Server baseline and Unix.
Responses to the notice will be accepted until June 22 and must include the company’s socio-economic status, standard commercial price structure and experience with endpoint security migration to a FedRAMP-moderated cloud.
