Treasury to Shift IT, Engineering Task Orders Under $4B TIPSS-4 Vehicle to GSA Contracts - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Treasury Department announced plans in February to transition information technology and engineering support task orders from the potential $4 billion Treasury Information Processing Support Services-4 contract vehicle to General Service Administration‘s Best-In-Class contracts, Bloomberg Government reported Wednesday.

The department’s transition plan comes as the TIPSS-4 vehicle approaches expiration in December and as it works to comply with the Office of Management and Budget’s April 2017 memo that requires the use of BIC contracts to streamline procurement.

BGOV said Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, IBM and Deloitte are among the 63 vendors that have secured task orders through the TIPSS-4 vehicle’s small business and full-and-open tracks, which have recorded $3.8 billion  in combined contract obligations since fiscal 2011.

The report said Treasury is expected to shift engineering and IT orders to BIC vehicles that include the IT Schedule 70; $50 billion Alliant and $15 billion Alliant Small Business contracts; One Acquisition for Integrated Solutions and OASIS Small Business; Alliant 2 and Alliant 2 Small Business; and the $10 billion Veterans Technology Services 2 contract.

BGOV also noted that the department spent $3.8 billion on all BIC vehicles between fiscal years 2013 and 2017.
