The U.S. Army Network-Cross Functional Team plans to host an industry event to discuss requirements for distributed computing technologies, such as the use of the cloud to support tactical formations.
The Technical Industry Forum will be held August 1 at the Marriott Raleigh City Center in North Carolina, the Army said in a FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday.
The two-day event will seek to aid software contractors and organizations in aligning their goals with the Army tactical network’s modernization needs.
The service branch also calls for non-defense information technology firms to participate in the forum to discuss a wide variety of technological areas including data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain.
The event’s first day will inform companies on the Army’s decision-making structures and approaches in the areas of data logistics, infrastructure, enterprise service architecture and mission partner environment.
The forum, on the second day, will serve as a venue for conversation and exchange between participating firms and Army network experts.
Registration for the event ends July 20.
