Andras Szakal, vice president and chief technology officer of IBM‘s U.S. federal business, has received the “Most Valuable Contributor Award for an Individual” at The Open Group Awards ceremony that took place April 17 in London.
Szakal chairs The Open Group’s board of directors and its Trusted Technology Forum.
The global consortium said it has more than 600 members across various industries and aims to help organizations address business objectives through the adoption of information technology standards.
During the event, The Open Group also bestowed its “Outstanding Contribution by a Member Organization” award to IBM in recognition of the company’s Open Professionals program, Unix certification and standardization and Open Trusted Technology Provider Standard supply chain initiatives.
The gala recognizes individuals and companies that have contributed to industry innovation efforts aimed at formulating open standards and identifying architectural best practices.
