Matthew Donovan, undersecretary of the U.S. Air Force, toured Boeing‘s KC-46A Pegasus production and modification facility in Everett, Washington, on Wednesday.
Boeing designed the aircraft to help increase the Air Force tanker fleet’s capacities and operational performance, the military branch said Wednesday.
“Air refueling is a no-fail mission,” Donovan said.
He added that the company should accelerate its efforts to address KC-46A program goals.
Donovan also urged the Air Force to provide funds necessary to deliver the multirole tanker aircraft to warfighters.
