The Center for Internet Security has added its “hardened” virtual images to Amazon Web Services‘ cloud marketplace for U.S. government customers.
CIS said Wednesday its CIS Hardened Images are now available in the AWS GovCloud (US) marketplace and have been accessible to other customers through the AWS Marketplace since 2015.
CIS Hardened Images are types of Amazon Machine Images that are securely-configured based on an internationally-recognized set of configuration standards called CIS Benchmarks.
AMIs work to deliver the information required to launch a virtual server in the cloud.
Troy Bertram, AWS general manager of worldwide public sector business development, said CIS’ hardened images are designed to streamline security configuration and help customers migrate their workloads into the AWS GovCloud region.
The securely-configured images include exception reports and CIS-Configuration Assessment Tool Pro reports, which are available to users of Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, CentOS Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other operating systems.
CIS is a non-profit organization that protects private and public organizations against cyber threats through the support of the global information technology community.
