The U.S. Navy has awarded Raytheon a $48.1 million delivery order to provide logistics support for the service branch’s Phalanx close-in-weapon system.
Raytheon’s missile systems business will furnish and manage Phalanx systems for contract line items under performance metrics prescribed in response to a fleet requisition, the Defense Department said Monday.
Work under the sole-source order will occur in Louisville, Kentucky, through August 2019.
The Navy will obligate $23.5 million in fiscal 2018 working capital funds at the time of award.
Phalanx is a radar-guided gun deployed both on land and at sea to counter close-in targets such as anti-ship missiles.
