A joint venture between Virgin Group and Hyperloop One has partnered with HERE Technologies to develop a navigation application to be used for Hyperloop trips and other modes of transportation.
Virgin Hyperloop One said Monday the application builds on HERE’s Mobile Software Development Kit for Business that grants mapping, location and navigation features for 136 countries, as well as public transit information covering over 1,300 cities.
End-to-end route navigation with indoor walking guidance will be incorporated into the application, giving users more customization options for travel routes.
The application was also designed to serve as a medium for planning, booking and paying for public and private transportation, ride-sharing and hyperloop services.
Virgin Hyperloop One will demonstrate the application at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 that will be held Jan. 9 to 12 at Las Vegas, Nevada.
The company expects to publicly release the application within the year.
