The S-92 helicopter of Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky subsidiary has been announced to be featured on a new television series on the Science Channel.
Mega Machines is a new engineering-centered show that will exhibit the performance of the S-92 on a debut episode which will air 10 PM eastern standard time, Thursday, Lockheed said Tuesday.
Cougar Helicopters will operate the S-92 in the one-hour episode in which the helicopter will be seen performing a variety of search and rescue missions.
Dana Fiatarone, vice president for commercial systems and services at Sikorsky, stated that the company’s founder had the S-92 developed as a life-saving tool.
The S-92 is a multi-mission helicopter that is often used for search and rescue operations, as well as transport missions.
Sikorsky will deliver the 300th S-92 helicopter within the first quarter of the year.
