Harris has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to support software upgrades and engineer electronic warfare systems onboard the F-16 aircraft of eight U.S. allies.
The company said Monday it will provide engineering support for versions 4, 8 and 9 of AN/ALQ-211 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite systems.
Ed Zoiss, president of Harris’ electronic systems business, said the company designed AIDEWS as a transferable pod system for global F-16 operators to distribute EW capacities across their fleets based on mission requirements.
AIDEWS works to help guard multiple fighter aircraft models from radio frequency threats, the company noted.
Harris booked the contract during the second quarter of its 2018 fiscal year.
