A CSRA-developed online registry platform has helped the Federal Aviation Administration document more than 1 million owners of civilian drones throughout the U.S.
CSRAÂ said Wednesday more than 870,000 of the registered drones are from hobbyists while the remaining 122,000 registrations are for individually documented commercial and public drones.
The company helped FAA design, build and operate the web-based drone registry system for use by both commercial and public drone users nationwide.
John Ludecke, vice president of CSRA’s civilian agencies group, said the partnership between the company and FAA helped people in the country to register their drones.
Registration via the agency’s registry portal costs $5 and is valid for up to three years, the company noted.
FAA plans and coordinates the flying public as well as manages tens of thousands of planes to help protect millions of travelers nationwide.
