Boeing‘s defense business in Australia has appointed Australian military veteran Mark Donaldson to serve as a strategic defense adviser.
The company said Wednesday Donaldson will support Boeing Defense Australia‘s growth strategy in the areas of joint and land systems.
Darren Edwards, vice president and managing director for Boeing Defense Australia, said Donaldson will provide strategic counsel that will work to support the Australian army as part of an integrated “fifth-generation” military force.
Donaldson has 15 years of military experience and is a recipient of the Victoria Cross award for valor.
He joined the Australian army in 2002 and has been deployed for special operations following his completion of Australia’s special air service selection course in 2004.
He stated that his role at Boeing Defense Australia will work as a platform for him to serve his country by helping ensure that Australia’s warfighters are equipped to execute missions.
Boeing Defense Australia, a subsidiary of Boeing’s defense, space and security business, is currently involved in the Australian army’s LAND 2072 Phase 2B Project Currawong, CH-47 Delivery and Operational Maintenance Support and Helicopter Aircrew Training System programs, among others.
