Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, senior vice president of government strategy and policy at Inmarsat, led a panel discussion on integrated satellite communications strategies and platforms at this year’s DoD Commercial SATCOM Workshop.
Cowen-Hirsch served as moderator of the discussion, titled “Business Models and the Future of Integrated SATCOM” and hosted by the Satellite Industry Association, Inmarsat said Monday.
She and other panelists from the government and industry called for the integration of commercial satcom delivery models with baseline government architecture.
They also provided insights on how an integrated comsatcom service could help increase flexibility of military operations and how public-private partnerships could help address space security challenges.
The 13th annual DoD Commercial SATCOM Workshop took place at Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia, from Dec. 12 to 14.
